When $15,000 in gifts have been made to the Arts Co-op for Social Good Fund, an extra $5,000 will be unlocked, which will allow two Arts students to participate in a co-op work-term at a non-profit organization!
Co-op for Social Good funds co-op positions at non-profits which otherwise would not have the budget to participate. The program helps Arts students gain valuable work experience, learn how non-profits are advancing important social and cultural causes, develop future-ready skillsets, and enrich their understanding of work and careers in the non-profit sector. It’s a win-win scenario as non-profit organizations benefit from the entrepreneurial mindset and human-centred knowledge that Waterloo Arts students bring to their workplaces.

“The Arts Co-op for Social Good Fund offers Arts students a rare opportunity to learn about the non-profit sector and how they can make a meaningful contribution to their communities. In a world where economic, social and environmental disruptions are getting more complex, we need strong leadership to develop innovative solutions. Being grounded in this type of experience helps to prepare students for what lies ahead.”
