The University of Waterloo is remembering Taymoore Raouf Balbaa (BES ’99, M.Arch ’03), one of Canada’s recognized voices in Architecture and Design.
Taymoore's life was marked by his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family and friends. He built a successful career as a highly regarded professor of architecture at Toronto Metropolitan University and as a principal of Axia Design, where his portfolio included cultural centers, educational facilities, places of worship, infill housing, and social housing projects.
He also shared his knowledge as an educator, teaching at the University of Waterloo School of Architecture, the John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design at the University of Toronto, and Toronto Metropolitan University’s Department of Architectural Science.
*Memorial donations, contributed in memory of Taymoore Balbaa, are held until such time the family and classmates working with the University can determine the best way to honour Taymoore Balbaa based on the total contributions received.
The goal is to have Taymoore’s classmates honour Taymoore with a scholarship in the School of Architecture.
