It is with deep sadness that we share the news of Dr. Shahreena Rahman's passing. Dr. Rahman was a beloved friend, colleague, and optometrist who lost her battle with cancer far too soon.
Dr. Rahman's journey in optometry began in Regina, SK, and led her to the University of Waterloo School of Optometry in 2001. She excelled academically, graduating in 2005, and continued to contribute to the field through her work at the Center for Contact Lens Research, her roles as a clinical advisor and Canadian Optometry Board Exams examiner, and her ownership of East Elgin Optometry in Aylmer, ON.
Dr. Rahman was a skilled practitioner, a dedicated mentor, beloved daughter and a cherished friend. Her warmth, creativity, and courage touched the lives of her patients, staff, colleagues, and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Gifts received in memory of Dr. Rahman will be directed to the Waterloo Eye Institute. By contributing to the future of optometry in Canada, we can ensure that her name and her impact on the profession are remembered for years to come.
