About UWaterloo Retirees

Retirees have always been at the heart of Waterloo’s story, and that influence doesn’t end when you step away from campus. The knowledge you shared, the students you supported, and the university you helped build continue to shape Waterloo today.

Giving Day is built on the idea that small acts, when shared by many, become something powerful. When retirees come together, our collective impact reaches far beyond a single student or a single term. It strengthens the foundation future students will stand on. It tells them that the people who helped build this university still believe in its mission and in the talented, determined young people who will carry it forward.

That shared impact comes to life through the Retiree Bursary Fund and the Retirees Scholarship Fund. Supporting these funds allows you to continue making a meaningful impact. Your support can be the difference between a student staying focused on their studies or having to step away to manage unexpected challenges. It can also be the encouragement that tells a high‑achieving student, “We see you — keep going.” It’s the reassurance that someone who once walked these same paths believes in their potential.

Your Giving Day gift becomes part of a lasting legacy of care, one that continues to open doors for future generations.
