The School of Pharmacy Student Success Fund supports initiatives that enhance the educational and professional development of pharmacy students here at Waterloo. We believe that supporting the whole student within and outside the classroom is important.

The fund helps students:

  • attend conferences to present their research and network with existing professionals
  • with extracurricular activities within the school and community that help create a feeling of belonging and build our pharmacy phamily
  • take advantage of northern/remote and international co-op placements that provide transformational learning opportunities

The fund helps build leadership capacity and empowers women in pharmacy to achieve their full potential. A key issue in the pharmacy profession is the under-representation of women in decision-making roles. This gender imbalance has been identified nationally as well as internationally. The Women in Pharmacy Leadership Fund supports initiatives at the School of Pharmacy that help guide, educate and support undergraduate and graduate students and alumni from the School who are interested in leadership opportunities within their field. Your support delivers opportunities that inspire talented young women to aim high and ask “why not me?”

These awards recognize graduate student researchers within the School of Pharmacy providing them the opportunity to participate in experiences beyond the classroom and lab. The fund has allowed numerous graduate students to participate in national and international conferences, showcasing their research and connecting with fellow researchers and leaders within the scientific community. These awards truly help develop the next generation of scientific and clinical researchers.
