The University of Waterloo's Interdisciplinary Capstone (i-Capstone) Future Cities course is redefining experiential learning by bringing students and industry together to tackle today’s most pressing urban challenges. Industry partners present real-world problem statements, and interdisciplinary student teams collaborate to develop innovative solutions in areas like sustainable housing, infrastructure and mobility. Guided by faculty and industry mentors, students gain hands-on experience, build professional connections and enhance their problem-solving skills. This unique program fulfills Capstone requirements across multiple faculties and offers opportunities to win prizes sponsored by the Future Cities Institute founded by CAIVAN.
