At the University of Waterloo, our chemistry students and department are uniquely energized to pursue new research experiments, novel approaches and embrace ambitious ideas for the future of chemistry.
Through initiatives to advance the instrumentation in our labs, the Department developed a new experiment in our undergraduate biochemistry laboratory course, giving our students an invaluable learning opportunity to translate theory into practice, enhancing their understanding in ways static diagrams never could. Through the addition of Surface Plasmon Resonance technology to our Protein Folding Lab, students now have hands-on experience to study DNA-protein, DNA-drug or DNA- small molecule interactions.
