The Event Horizon Telescope has now moved past the first image towards resolving many key questions about black holes and their impact on our universe.

From how they feast on surrounding gas to the origin of the lightspeed *emanations*, jets, that enable black holes to rule the fates of galaxies, the EHT has begun to replace science fiction with science fact. I'll describe the latest EHT results, their astronomical context, how they are shedding light on gravity's most extreme manifestations, and present a vision of what will come after EHT.
