Waterloo alumni and co-op students in California have a special invitation to join proud co-op employer Aven, as they explore the path to engineering and technical leadership in Silicon Valley. Get a behind-the-scenes look into exactly what it takes to rapidly accelerate your career at Google, Meta, Microsoft and other prominent startups and companies in Silicon Valley. Former Facebook executives break down the actual progressions in their careers, including how they scaled engineering and technical teams and built the influence to land promotion after promotion.

This is not a puff-piece panel, but a step-by-step playbook for engineers and technologists who want an actionable path to leadership. You will have direct access to:

  • Sadi Khan (BASc ’08, Computer Engineering) — Co-Founder and CEO of $2.2-billion fintech startup Aven and former Product Director at Facebook
  • Sisun Lee (BASc ’14, Systems Design Engineering) — Product Manager at Aven, former Product Manager at Tesla and Facebook, and former startup founder
  • Mike Vernal — General Partner at Conviction, former Partner at Sequoia Capital and former Vice-President at Facebook
  • Avichal Garg — Founder and General Partner at Electric Capital, former Partner at Y Combinator and former Director at Facebook

Light bites and drinks will be provided.

This is a closed event. RSVP is required.
