In loving memory of Brent McFarlane
Brent was Head Coach for the University of Waterloo's Track and Cross Country team from 1989-2000, leading the team to both provincial and national championships. He was a valued member of the Department of Athletics and Recreation and was honoured as UW Coach of the Year in 1991 and 1997.
In addition to his impact at Waterloo, Brent represented Canada internationally as the Canadian Head Track and Field Coach - 2000 Olympic Games (Sydney), Olympic Hurdle Coach -1980 (Moscow), 1984 (Los Angeles), 1988 (Seoul) and the Commonwealth Games Coach - 1978 (Edmonton), 1986 (Edinburgh) and 1998 (Malaysia). In 2002, UW Athletics and Recreation proudly inducted Brent into the Waterloo Warriors Hall of Fame.
