In Memory of CJ Moore
To honour our beloved CJ Moore, taken from us on August 12, 2018, we have created the CJ Moore Memorial Award for Biomedical Engineering.
Although CJ meant different things to different people, all who met him loved him. He was a teacher, a counselor, a diver, and a musician. He was a student, a confidant, a protector, and a loved one. Most of all, no matter who you were, CJ was a friend. In the many stories shared about him, a common theme is clear. CJ was a kind, humble, compassionate man who was mature and wise beyond his years.
CJ was a fourth-year biomedical engineering student and was pursuing his dream to dive at the Olympics. His ultimate goal was to become a teacher. CJ holds the distinction of being the first ever graduate of the University of Waterloo biomedical engineering degree, having been awarded his degree posthumously, in the fall of 2018.
Donations to the CJ Moore Memorial Award for Biomedical Engineering will provide financial help for students in the program who have the same outlook on life as CJ.
